Our Pastor
Pastor Panha Doeung was born in Cambodian but was raised in Fort Worth where he failed to live out his father's dream to play football for the Dallas Cowboys. He has lived in Houston five different times in the past 25 years. He received his BA from Houston Baptist University majoring in Accounting and Management. Shortly after college, he served as a Missionary Journeyman with the International Mission Board in East Africa from 1993-1996. He spent two years in Tanzania as Assistant Treasurer, and spent one year in Kenya as Area Auditor where he traveled throughout Eastern and Southern Africa to audit the mission's books.
Upon his return from the mission field, he worked in the corporate world as Accounting Manager with Houston Cellular and Cingular Wireless. He got involved with Asian ministries by working with young Cambodian people and with Asian American Church. He was the first Youth Pastor of AACH from 1997-1998 before he was called to be the Pastor at South Main Cambodian (1998-2005) in midtown Houston.
Prior to coming to AACH, he was the Pastor at First Chinese Baptist Church of San Antonio (2006-2010) ministering to a multi-ethnic Asian American community in northwest San Antonio.
He received his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth in December 2005. He is married to Sokchea, and they have one daughter, Catherine.
He enjoys reading, traveling and watching (and playing) sports. His ministry passion and gifts are teaching and administration.
